Timbaland Apologizes for Joking About Justin Timberlake Putting a Muzzle on Britney Spears
When asked about Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” — a song he co-wrote and co-produced — being back in the news as a result of Britney Spears’ memoir, Timbaland made the unfortunate decision to say that she is “going crazy” and joked about wanting to tell Justin to muzzle her.
After hours of being dragged all over the internet for his remarks, Timbo gave an objectively tepid apology during a TikTok livestream, where he also revealed that he had been instructed to apologize by Missy Elliott.
It’s not clear what the hitmaker’s relationship with Britney is today, but was curved by the pop legend when he attempted to work with her circa 2007. Here’s the kicker: He wanted her to make a duet with Justin.
